Sammy's Three!
Sammy turned 3 on Sunday. He is growing up fast. We are realizing that the things we teach him are actually sticking. The other day we told him he was going to have a sitter while we went to the temple. He asked, "You going to see Jesus?" He is a little sweetheart and we love having him around.
Another cute story. He came up to me one day out of the blue and said, "You've been such a good boy, Mommy. Here, this is for you," and handed me a book. Clearly he has caught on to the bribery idea. Dang it.
And one of Nellie, stealing Sammy's new birthday cars. She hasn't figured out the difference between "boy" and "girl" toys yet. She is walking so well now. Cutie.

Baby Girl Number 5!!

Shaylynn Elise Coleman was born on Sunday, 9/27, at 3:52am. 9 lbs 7 oz, 20 3/4 in, lots of dark hair. At 10 pm she was on the correct position and a few hours later she had turned so she was "footling breech" (one foot down). So, after an emergency c-section, mother and baby are doing well. (I was going to post sooner, but couldn't find an easy way to turn the photos sideways. Since then things have just been busy here.)

Tyler's Mission Call
Hey everyone!
I'm going on a mission! My call came today, a Thursday. I've been called to serve in the Washington DC South Mission, English speaking. I'm to be at the MTC the morning of December 2, 2009. I have lots to do before I go, but not three months worth! So I'll probably get a nice little short-term job and see how much of the missionary supplies I can pay for. I have to buy suits and ties and a big first aid kit and lots of other stuff.
Emily put it up on facebook and I'm going to email a whole bunch of people myself, but consider this the family announcement. Spread the word.

Personal Favor
Coleman Family! I know all of you have very busy schedules, but I have one personal favor to ask of each of you. It will only take 5 minutes at most.
As we all know, President Obama is trying to create a national health care bill. Regardless of whether we think socialized medicine is the best thing for the country, I think the bill will probably pass congress. Some groups and lobbyists are trying to exclude Chiropractic care from being covered. This would be a huge step backward for my chosen profession.
The favor is: please go to www.chirovoice.org and send your congressmen a letter to voice your support for chiropractic. The site has a prepared form letter, so all you have to do is fill in your name and address (so that they know what representatives to send it to).
I really hope that each of you can do this for me. The more people that voice their support, the better. I would really appreciate the effort.
Thank you all.

Home Sweet Home Pics - Michael & Family

Well, here is a photo -- yeah, finally! We love our new home so much! Our fruit trees are doing well (no peach curl on the peach tree, thank goodness!). Our garden is growing so-so: broccoli, tomatoes and cabbage growing best so far. Caitlin and Julianna continue to inspire our days with joy and we are HAPPY!!! By the way, Alicia helped to paint the fence during her college break. Looks nice, hmmm?

Elizabeth's Pregnant!
The baby's due in September.
And thus it continues that she is pregnant for every reunion, starting with the 1997 reunion.
(I guess it's a good thing we don't have those annually!)

Yes, I am engaged... to a Coleman!
I hope that it also goes without saying that we are not blood-related! You may be thinking right now, "Yeah, she is a Coleman. Maybe they're related.... Yeah!" We have been aware of this connection even before we started dating, and with the help of our genealogies we have discovered that we are not related--Special thanks to the Coleman family historians:) We think this is a funny coincidence and we extend a warm welcome to all the jokes which will inevitably be made ;)
With much to everyone,
Jason and Christine

H&R Block
As many of you know, I just started a job working for H&R Block as a tax preparer. I'm allowed to do 5 "Family and Friends" returns for $20 each, so if you want me to do your taxes for that price, please let me know. I have to tell them who will be getting the discount by January 15. The $20 includes federal and state taxes, e-filing, and the H&R Block standard guarantee (they pay penalties and interest if your taxes are done wrong). You'll have to send me some of your tax documents and spend some time on the phone with me while I'm working on your return. There are also some blackout dates when I can't do your return because our office will be extremely busy (so no waiting until April 15). I won't be an expert on your particular tax situation, especially because none of you live in Oregon, but I'd love the learning experience, and everything I do will be checked by an experienced tax preparer. Email me at carriemichellerose@gmail.com by January 15 if you have any questions or if you want to get the discount.
